Leylandii Roots

Hi
I want to plant some Leylandi trees at the back of my garden to form a screen. Do their roots cause problems ie subsidence or are they quite shallow?
Thanks

Leylandii roots aren't as distructive as other types of tree, this is because they don't go very deep. They tend to instead grow out sideways.

In some cases they can be beneficial to walls that are subject to subsidence other liquid caused structural damage as they tend to absord fluids out of the soil.
