How close to plant Leylandii

Q: I am thinking of planting some leylandii trees about 2-3 feet high but need to restrict their maximum height to 6 foot  how close apart should they be planted?

A: If they are Gold Leylandii then they should be around 1 1/2 feet apart. If they are green then they should be around 1ft apart.

I'm thinking about buying green leylandi to put between me and my very nosy neighbour, my garden is approx 30 ft long, how many would i need and how far apart should they be planted.
