Cutting Branches Near The Trunk

Q) I hope you can help. The bottom branches of my laylandii trees had turned completely brown, 25 cm up the trunk. The trees are 7 meter tall. We decided to cut them off, but now the trunk is exposed, and we would like to know if new branches will grow again on the trunk at the bottom where the old was cut.

A) Yes they should start to grow back within around 6 to 7 months and be fully grown back within around 18 months. So you won't have harmed them.

All the best Martin,
